Hi All! OK, its silly question time!
Background:
I use a number of UHF Maxtracs for GR300 type operations, links what have
you. I have had no problems programming the little buggers with a pentium
1 233 computer (maybe its a little fast of a computer)
I recent pick up a few UHF GM300's. The 1st radio I was able to
read, change, program all 8 modes with no problems. I did some on air
QSO's. All was well except I programmed a friends repeater wrong..... went
back in changed the FREQ, saved it back to the radio, it beeped at me like
normal but now it is now DOA no TX/RX. The radio powers up, I
can go thought all 8 modes (it originally had only 2) but no TX or RX.
I rebooted the computer, reread the radio (all 8 new modes were there)
programmed it again, beeped like normal..... still dead!
GRRRRRR!
Yes, I'm aware that Maxtrac and GM300 software is different. I'm
aware of the speed issues, hence the concern that the pent 1 233mhz being a
little fast, but I've had no problems with the Maxtracs. The radios are
beeping like normal at the end of the reads/programing, and I'm not getting any
error codes.
Any ideas?
Brian
