The official answer is by serial number.  Above x-number 
serial number is a version 2 repeater. I'll post the number 
as soon as I find it.

The hard way most often... 
The kpg-66d software will not read the version 2 repeater 
nor will the converse...  

There is a software upgrade path but I'm not yet sure if it 
applies to the version 1 and version 2 repeaters... but I'll 
check.
