Hi Steve, I would be very happy to empty the beer barrels of there 
contents! Seriously though there is a company in the UK that make 
filters out of barrels but they only work down to about 68MHz due to 
the lengh. I have a set and they would make an excellent 70MHz duplexer 
but we don't have 4M repeaters here!
As far as oxygen cylinders go.....I'm not sure what they are made of 
but I know the carbon dioxide ones used in fire extinguisher systems 
are made from cast iron and are lined with concrete.
