If it's line of site, you can probably get away with a good wireless 
system. Years ago we were using Breezcom(?) radios with directional 
antennas to get T-1 speeds three miles away.

This was in 1999 but the technology is not only still out there, it's 
better. I wish I could tell you what equipment would be good today but 
I'm more of a server junkie.
