It's a toss up really. The Hamtronics OV-1 equipped unit is commercial radio stable and certified for land mobile service. It's also fully assembled and pretty much plug and play.
I myself would not purchase one new because of other choices I have available. But for a real deal on something used I don't mind refurbishing a lot of stuff others would not touch. Even Midland gear... But... as a fully Authorized Kenwood Dealer I'd be more than happy to sell him a brand new tkr-850 or refurbished tkr-820 repeater.
