Kevin, I think we are talk'n about the same thing...prevent intermod in the PA from outside signals which could end up making the PA generate intermod and often amplify it with the possibility of it destroying itself. Even without the generation of intermod an incoming signal might cause the same thing to the PA.
And if this intermod were to be on another stations frequency would interfer with that user.
