Hi Mick, >I am running a Hamtronics receiver on our 53.090/52.090 repeater. Should I use discriminator audio or squelched audio from the speaker.
Speaker audio is usually not a good idea. Not only does it have the highest distortion of any point along the audio path, but if someone adjusts the local speaker pot he'll also be changing the repeat audio level. The discriminator is a good source because it doesn't have those problems. Discriminator audio is preemphasized, so depending on how you will be handling your audio you may have to deemphasize it at the controller. There's plenty of information on the topic on the Repeater-Builder website. 73, Bob, WA9FBO **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products.
