The pictures are of a 'D' model. Within each 2001 series there were various model numbers [e.g. R2014D] which indicated the options that were installed.
As others have indicated, the 'D' models are the best of the 2001 series. There are actually three major variants of the 'D' series. The second series introduced DTMF encode/decode and cable fault. The last models [labeled /0900] have a duplex generator enhancement for the 900 MHz band. None of the 2001 instruments have a tracking generator. They have a sweep generator function which has a sweep limit [dispersion] of 10 MHz. The sweep generator is used with the oscilloscope display and an RF detector probe, whereas a true tracking generator uses a spectrum analyzer for display. The 2001 can do a rudimentary job of tracking generator for tuning bandpass devices by activating the duplex generator during spectrum analyzer mode. The display flatness is not good and there is too much internal phase noise for this process to be used with notch devices, but it's better than nothing. Overall, an excellent instrument. ------------------------------------------------------------------ --- In [email protected], "ks4ec" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: " Thanks for all the responses.
