I once built an 8-pole Butterworth LPF & plugged an LM324 into the socket, listened to the output using a separate speaker amp, then swapped out the LM324 with a TL084. I could definitely hear a touch of high frequency distortion with the LM324 that wasn't there when using the TL084. Bob NO6B
