What happens if a P25 repeater or D-Star module fails.You don't get out unless you have a stack or linked system. Taking just a single station example a UHF. You have a UHF D-Star on the air and the TX radio overheats and dies. You have no local repeat just like P25 or MOTOTRBO as well as ANALOG system. All P25, MOTOTRBO and I think D-Star will work digit in Digital simplex mode. Cant say for sure about the ICOM but should if it doesn't.
