I remember that too, and they have a bad tendency to go flaky. Work the switch in and out rapidly and see if it behaves it itself. If you can get some tuner cleaner, clean it out good. If that doesn't work, you can trace out which contacts make when in 'Repeat' mode, and solder them together with jumpers.
