The actual carrier is 145.25, which is cable channel 18. You would hear a buzzing sound but only on the output, it wouldn't go through the repeater.
Hmm, Cant find a VHF manual for the VXR-5000, do you know what the 1st IF freqency is? In the UHF it is 47.9 MHz which seems goofy to me but may be something else. Even so 144.63 - 49.7 = 96.73 Can you provide the model and frequencies of the UHF repeaters?
