I only mention this because unfortunately, "intermod" has become the 
generic kind of term to explain ANY unexplained receiver signal 
reception just as Kleenex became the generic word to describe "facial 
tissues".

And as you see, it confuses the issue and makes an accurate diagnosis 
difficult if not downright impossible.
