Our club's Kendecom has also been "controller by-passed" since before I was involved with the organization. The RF decks seem to continue to work, and two years ago an audio board lost a capacitor. Otherwise, the thing does just sit there and operate. Frequency accuracy isn't something that's high on the Kendecom list of "quality features" either. Setting their crappy pot on the TX (another buck and they'd have had a nice multi-turn pot in there), is touchy as hell. I wouldn't recommend one to anyone.
