RG400 would be a better choice than RG142 as someone else pointed out. If you are going to make your own cables, you then have to decide what cable you are going to be more comfortable putting connectors on. My opinion is that the cable loss for a short jumper of RG400 vs Superflex is negligible, but a poorly installed connector will cause a big difference.
