Not in the case of the Midland Transmitter... The Transmit
Audio requirement is high level, also known by some as a
"line level" value although I'm not sure if I've ever seen
some defined in-stone standard for a line-level voltage
(in this application).
Although the classic "Midland Radio High TX Audio Drive
Requirement" might at first glance appear awkward, in many
cases I've found it to be much easier to deal with versus
interfacing very low mic element levels in noisy aps.
Getting people informed on how to best deal with it is
the hardest part. Over the phone and by Email I've
suggested people remove and use the preamp circuit from
the mic when the occasion required it and no other
reasonable options were available.
Simple can be best...
