FYI If I were doing this over again now, I'd definitely go for ownCloud over SOGo for personal use. SOGo is just a bit heavy to configure and run, has more potential for enterprise (e.g. integration with Exchange/Outlook), but ownCloud is a lot simpler to use, and has a ton of other useful features (and is constantly improving). But, that said, SOGo still works for me to CalDAV/CardDAV every day (and my wife is on Android using our SOGo server). Feel free to contact me off-list if you need help configuring. > Surprisingly, ownCloud in not in the Debian archives, so downloaded > the .tar.bz2 file and the .deb for the client. If you follow the server install links from owncloud.org, you'll end up at: http://software.opensuse.org/download/package?project=isv:ownCloud:community&package=owncloud I just use the Debian repo provided by ownCloud, working great for me on Wheezy, even through major upgrades (e.g. to 7.0 a few weeks back). ownCloud also has that Android app in the F-Droid repo... could be useful for syncing photos, for example, or maybe for transfering other files. On my wife's device, we have it set to auto-upload any photos she takes to ownCloud, as a kind of backup, though I'm not sure if it works if she takes the photos when offline. We haven't done much more with it, but if you're already setting up ownCloud for CalDAV/CardDAV, the ownCloud client might be worth looking at for other file transfers/backup... not sure how much it can be automated outside of the photo uploads though at present...
