*Subject:* SAS Healthcare Data & Analysis Programmer

*Location*: Raleigh, NC


*Duration: *3 months


This Consultant will help statistically align the client's data to make
sure it’s structured properly.  The Consultant will help the client better
understand their data, what the data means, what gaps exist in the data
based on their requirements and how their data changes.

The consultant will profile the data, create SAS libraries, perform
statistical alignment between the data they have and the business
requirements.  This role is providing data analysis with a strong focus of
how the analysis fits in the healthcare IT space, using Base SAS, EG, Graph
& STAT and ACCESS to Teradata, flat files, and SQL Server, to access data,
manipulate, analyze, profile and transform the healthcare clinical records
data via sorting, summarizing, joining and/or merging data.

The ideal consultants will provide the following support:
Building out the Client's usage of SAS;
Combining SAS programming knowledge with healthcare data knowledge to work
independently and make meaningful conclusions about the Client’s business;
Coordinating, programming, analyzing and evaluating healthcare data using
SAS;
Based on Client’s requests, accessing data, manipulating and analyzing the
data via sorting, summarizing, joining and/or merging data, and then
creating and delivering insights to business.
As part of the large Data Warehouse being built in Teradata (and
Informatica), the Client wants to use SAS to profile clinical records, and
perform lots of data manipulation and data transformation, and perform
basic analytics about their data so as to learn more about it – using such
SAS functionality as DATA step, Frequencies, Sorting, Means and Standard
Deviations, and/or SQL programming skills and experiences, along with use
of other applicable PROCEDURES, and SAS MACROs.


Must leverage and apply familiarity, knowledge and/or experiences working
with healthcare data or sources, such as: diagnosis codes (ICD-9 and
ICD-10), EHR (Electronic Health Record) data, laboratory orders and results
data, immunizations data, drug (NDC) data, provider relationships data,
HEDIS &/or PQRI (Physician Quality Reporting Initiative) initiatives,
quality measures data, CCD (Continuity of Care Document), other possible
clinical information data, from different subject areas used in the
clinical space.
Must be an excellent communicator (both spoken and written forms) and be
able to effectively foster interactive collaboration and discussions among
the Client team.
Must be able to present analysis and conclusions in a logical and clear
manner (but not to the senior management level), and must be able to
effectively work as part of a team.
