Patch Set 5: Have we ever tried using SSE/AVX for multiplication? It should be possible to avoid using int256_t altogether if we can do four 64-bit multiplies in parallel. Are FMA instructions available for integer? (I have the manual in front of me but have to run and no time to look it up).
