I can't reproduce this in dist-test runs (I did 1000 : 8 stress threads and 1000 with 16 stress threads and saw no failures). : So, to try to improve things, I don't understand; precommit runs the test in dist-test. Are you replicating the ASAN environment faithfully in your dist-test runs? FASTDEBUG? UBSAN+ASAN? Does the test need to be run in slow mode?
