PS1, Line 7: [ranger] allow subprocess to log to a file
As it stands, subprocess logging will be piped back to the originating Kudu 
master, right? Where does that end up? In the glog? In stdout? In stderr?

I'm still trying to understand the motivation for this patch; would be great if 
you could add it to the commit description.
