    @acvogel Other than code complexity, the main reason I'd be hesitant about 
adding this option is that most of the Spark, spark-ec2  operations (like 
start-all.sh, copy-dir etc.) can only be run from the master machine and 
because of spot instance pricing we might run into cases where the master 
machine dies but the slaves are still active.
    
    I'd be interested in knowing what others think about this as well
