@srowen Thanks for the feedback!
The number of dependencies increased because transitive dependencies were
promoted to avoid issues with being unable to exclude transitive dependencies
from shaded artifacts (httpclient from thrift).
Are you concerned with the size of the exclusion block or just wondering if
all the exclusions are necessary?
