@nkronenfeld the thrust of my comment comes from the fact that `DStream`s
give you an `RDD`, which you can do whatever you want with, including make a
`DStream` again with the result via `transform`. Is that the missing piece
here? This change is certainly not a prerequisite for reusing code across batch
and streaming.
