Aside from a few minor areas, the code here is pretty well-covered by the
Java tests in `spark.shuffle.unsafe`. According to IntelliJ, running just
those tests gives 95% line coverage in UnsafeShuffleWriter and 85% in
UnsafeShuffleExternalSorter. I think that it won't be too hard to bump up to
virtually 100% in both.
