I agree it is a pain for a native engine to have to change behavior in a point release. My concern at this point is that this PR went into 3.5.2 and 3.4.3, both of which are already technically released. So for good or bad if we change it back then it is going to be a bigger pain for anyone trying to deal with multiple versions of Spark than just keeping it this way moving forward. -- This is an automated message from the Apache Git Service.
