To @szehon-ho and @cloud-fan , let me merge this AS-IS status to unblock Apache Spark 4.1.0. For the last comment, we can add back cleanly to `master` branch for Spark 4.2.0 later. > let's keep the existing code if they may still be useful to implement the new syntaxes.
