   The exception is handled only on the main test thread. Other threads are 
terminated on any exception. So, it does not matter what exception is thrown.

Review Comment:
   It is not a bump in the timeout. `sleep()` was not interrupted here, and it 
would not exit for 1 second.  The timeout in the `await()` is just a safeguard, 
so the default value is used.
