Noting that Spark branch-4.2 is on Log4j 2.25.4 is very helpful. I am prioritizing 2.25.4 in my current verification suite to confirm the exact impact on that version. Given that the 'identity malfunction' root cause was present in the logic throughout the 2.25.x cycle, it is highly probable that this version is affected by both the AIOOBE (#3933) and the NPE (#4143). I will complete this verification very quickly and provide a definitive report. My goal is to give you a clear 'Affected/Not Affected' status for 2.25.4 so you can make the right decision for the Spark 4.2 release.
