How about merging the previous version (https://github.com/apache/spark/pull/57040/changes/4435bbd77c22b13f99ae17f63ae0ec8ca64f976b) of the PR to all active branches now and once we declared minimum version >= 3.12, then we upgrade the code to its current form?
