Thanks for the detailed follow-up and for linking the Linux and macOS runs
that actually exercise the pip packaging step. Agreed that the removed `git
clean` was gated on `GITHUB_ACTIONS` and existed only to relieve runner disk
pressure, so dropping it is reasonable now that the runs confirm sufficient
headroom. The clean-tree side effect only matters on a persistent/self-hosted
workspace re-run, which is a non-standard path and fails with a clear,
actionable message, so I'm fine treating it as out of scope -- a one-line note
in the description, as suggested, would be a nice touch but isn't a blocker.
