This is similar to ApplicationConstants.CLASS_PATH_SEPARATOR.
$$() wraps the string with "{{" and "}}", rather than 'hardcoding' "%" or
"$" as is done by $().
And the cluster replaces it with the real script variable marker when it
finds the "{{" and "}}" pair.
