A flag to set the flag? no, callers can always specify `--host` directly.
Yeah the problem is we are weighing a cosmetic, but legitimate, improvement
over something that might have functional impact, but we aren't sure what.
@nyaapa you did some of the work we're talking about here; any opinions?
