Yeah, but this is also changing the public-facing API. We'd be deprecating
and then undeprecating interfaces, and then potentially deprecating other
interfaces. If this code really has a future purpose, and it's not that much,
not causing any harm, I'm not as clear there's a compelling reason to remove
it.
