I also like this feature. The Hive-generated statistics for partitioned
tables are stored in partition-level properties. See the PR:

We definitely need it before
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/SPARK-17129 is done; otherwise, users are
unable to read the statistics of partitioned tables.
