Without a clear well defined corner case that is not covered by current
tests, i dont think it is a good idea to add this much amount complexity. So i
suggest closing this PR for now. If the spark nightly tests fail, I strongly
suggest identifying the precise root case, and then we can surgically add more
process tests.
