I'd be interested to hear from people like @vanzin or @tomwhite whether
they think that updating Avro to 1.8, while Hadoop 2.6 uses 1.7.7, is probably
safe or no.
Yes I agree this is separate, nice-to-have change and not essential to fix
the original problem.
