@JoshRosen yeah we should try to fix that also, pretty sure that's the
mystery reason why booting is taking so long. But in any case, do you agree
this is a nicer way to check for liveness of the cluster? For large clusters
there will always be a few stragglers so SSH'ing is not a bad idea.
