I agree with your suggestion of combining them into one single future. 2. We can change ``shutdownNow`` to ``shutdown`` so that it lets the atomic task already submitted to be completed. But we may still need synchronisation i.e between the ``isShutdown`` and actual task submission, pool may shutdown. i.e (check + submission) also need to be atomic to handle this.
