Guys, For starters, the following RPM's need to be installed to implement a SAMBA server: samba samba-common
The main configuration file for the Samba server is: /etc/samba/smb.conf In this file you will modify/add/configure the Linux folders/printers (ie shares) you wish to share to other Linux/Unix/Windows workstations. See 'man smb.conf' for more details. You can either modify this configuration file directly using your favourite text editor (eg vi, pico or emacs) or via the SWAT (Samba Web Administration Tool). To use SWAT, install the samba-swat RPM found on the Red Hat distribution CD's. Run '/sbin/chkconfig swat on' as the root user, and from the local machine open up a web browser and type http://localhost:901 as the URL. This should make configuring Samba very easy. When finished configuring SAMBA, start/restart the service by issuing the command 'service smb start'. Check out www.samba.org for more information.
