Maurice,

You should be able to just comment out the line with the '#' symbol at
the beginning.  You don't have to remove the line entirely, however you
do have to reload the xinetd service anytime you manually change a file
under /etc/xinetd.d.  ie run '/sbin/service xinetd reload' as the root
user.
