Sounds like maybe rhn_register is trying to start an X display and it
can't.
rhn_register --nox
will do it with no X. See if that helps?
I typically use rhnreg_ks --username=[rhn username] --password=[rhn
password] --email=[your e-mail addy]
That registers from the command line just fine.
