The printers found by cups browsing feature are not stored in
printers.conf. Where are these printers stored? I turned off browsing
on the local system and the remote system from which the printers
came. Restarting cups on both systems still leaves the printers found
by browsing on the local system (where I want to get rid of them). If
I try to delete these printers from the www interface it takes me to
the remote host but I don't want to delete them off the remote host.
The only thing that works is deleting them from the
system-config-printer ..but that takes forever especially with lots of
printers (doesn't allow multi-select).

Then I found that modifying something under basic server settings in
system-config-printer blew away printers.conf and cupsd.conf as well
as all the printers found via browsing. I then replaced printers.conf
and cupsd.conf from the .O backup and cups is now setup the way I want
it. Just need to test to see if I can print to all the printers now.
