OK, so that's probably the card. If you remove the card and run "lspci" again does this line go away. At least at that point we'll know for sure that we're working on the right card, although I think it's obvious we are. After that, with the card inserted, please post the output of ifconfig. Also, the last few lines of /var/log/messages immediately after inserting the card might be nice as well, maybe something like: tail -n 20 /var/log/messages Basically I'm interested in messages that show the system finding the card and attempting to load the driver.
