One has to understand that they really can't win no matter what they do. They surely have an internal schedule but they also don't want to release something before it is ready. If they told us Oct. 5 but it ended up being Nov. 15 we would all find that really disappointing too. Or if it was just released on Oct. 5 because that is what was announced but it wasn't really ready we would all find that disappointing as well. I think it probably works as well as possible for us to just follow the clues dropped here and there and set reasonable expectations based on those. We know roughly how long it usually takes from the close of the public beta testing period to a release, there have been several comments made in public about it happening this year (those are likely to be fairly safe or they wouldn't be made at all), there are hints in bugzilla tickets about new bug fixes not making it into the initial release due to scheduling. All of this suggests it will be pretty soon.
