One wonders how much of the U.S. job recovery is based on replacing the
military hardware expended in carrying out the shock and awe illegal war
on Iraq? Iran is yet to come? Whatever, Rove has won the re-election
of Bush by appealing to 'moral' issues: racism and the standard right
wing biases against women, gays, new migrants, Muslims, people
struggling against poverty, the wider world out there:

The next step for the new term is, obviously, to kill off as many of
these 'enemies' as possible. And this is what we will be watching quite
literally. Presumably we will not see the returning body bags, but a
few glimpses may show through of the women and children about to be
blown away in Falluja:

As Falluja Waits in Despair, Rebels Attack in Samarra

November 7, 2004
By JAMES GLANZ and ROBERT F. WORTH

Desperation settled over the citizens who remained on
Saturday in Falluja, the rebel-held city on the brink of
being invaded by tens of thousands of American soldiers and
marines.

And down the line we will hear some fragments on the lives of poor
people lost in this country through lack of adequate medical care and
other omitted support systems, an occasional gay or minority police
murder here or there, another execution of a juvenile. Certainly fear
and depression will increase as our unholy crusade against the rest of
the globe is expanded and America is isolated as the brutal rogue state
that it has become:
