For the record I was recruited for Skull and Bones and turned them down. The whole Yale senior society business is childish stuff. Certainly some of these guys (and now women) meet and bond in these "tombs" (they are windowless) and continue on relationships later. Buckley was Bones and a pernicious influence, I am sure, on many undergrads whom he courted assiduously, but I wouldn't worry about Kerry being tied into some sort of conspiracy. I actually joined another one of the things and then resigned in disgust when a dean dragged in private student records for recruitment purposes. They are childish and a carry over from 19th century fantasy stuff. Generally speaking fraternities are pernicious, but most outgrow them. Bush looks to be an exception. Best, Ed
