I have little doubt that Kerry will back out, one way or another, of the war. The question is, do you really think that will end it?
This war didn't start on 9/11/01. It started much earlier, and just didn't appear on our collective "radar screens" until that date. Militant Islam has been at war with us for a decade before then, at least. Do you really think they're going to stop just because Kerry doesn't want to fight anymore? Not in your wildest dreams.
