Hi.

Just a quick question here:
I'm currently using Ring at home and I'm very happy with how well it
performs between my MacBook Pro and my Ubuntu Desktop insde my home.

Tried it. It worked. And I like it!

Now this is just me asking a dumb question and I have no real clue exactly
how this works at all but is it technically possible to change my own Ring
ID in any way?

Could, for example, the ID simply be my email address?
Or, could I simply enter **any** string of characters (or even my existing
phone number) as my own ID and then just go to my other machine and enter
that exact same string and, *voilĂ *(!) get a connection?

Ring: *edfec3ea3e42bd93c6231cc5add06a69719b59c2*

So, this is my Ring ID at home (call it if you want) but it's kinda hard to
put down on a businesscard, tell my wife over the phone or even store in
some systems (because of the 40 character string length).

Thanks :)

Kind regards,
Jarl Arntzen
