Nope.

The community can and should decide the general principles for a meeting host
or location -- open to everyone, no bar-coding or DNA sampling of attendees, no
excessive demands for Personal Data, decent flight connections, affordability,
etc, etc. It’s then up to The Management to apply those principles when they
choose a venue. The community can’t and shouldn’t interfere in such matters of
implementation detail. Just imagine how hard it would be to get the RIPE
community to reach consensus on where its meetings are held.

If the numbers for RIPE75 are down or too many people complain about Dubai’s
rules, I’m sure that will be remembered for the next time RIPE comes to the
gulf region.
